Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee gave a shout out to teammate Ivica Zubac after a breakout performance in Friday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Lakers earned a 112-104 victory over the Pelicans at Staples Center, and as usual, it was LeBron James that did it all for Luke Walton's team.

LeBron earned a triple-double with 22 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds, and it helped the Lakers snap their two-game losing streak.

However, one of the most notable developments from the game was the play of Ivica Zubac, who got the start with JaVale McGee still sidelined due to an illness.

And the impressive effort from Zubac drew plenty of praise from McGee:

Ivica Zubac finished with a double-double in notching 16 points and 11 rebounds while going 8-of-10 from the floor in 32 minutes of action for the Lakers.

It's clear that he certainly has potential and there's no doubt that the Lakers would love to see him progress even further as the season goes along.

Los Angeles is now able to take a little momentum moving forward after the two lackluster performances against the Washington Wizard and Brooklyn Nets.

This win helped the Lakers move to 19-13 overall on the season, and the play from Zubac was a welcome sight since this team needed a boost after the four-game road trip.

Next up for the Lakers is a matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday before heading to Oracle Arena on Christmas Day to face off against the Golden State Warriors.
