Kendrick Nunn is one of the new faces of the Los Angeles Lakers but it looks like he won't be having too much difficulty adjusting to the squad.

The athletic guard is expected to play a major role off the bench for the Lakers, especially since he's one of the team's few young guys. Lucky for him, he's already familiar with the play of one of the Lakers' core members. Nunn said he's been closely following the guy's career since their childhood (via Lakers Nation).

“I’ve been seeing Talen (Horton-Tucker) grow since he was a freshman in high school and his growth been just unbelievable and we’ve connected throughout the years. When we went our separate ways throughout college and things like that we would come back to Chicago and connect. When I signed with the Lakers, I told him I’m making that move and he was excited for me so we get to play alongside each other and create some havoc throughout the league.”

Nunn said he and Horton-Tucker have known each other for a decade now. Curiously, it looks like they'll be competing for minutes at the two-guard spot, although Nunn is pretty comfortable playing point guard as well.

Nunn, of course, has also witnessed how the Lakers operate after facing them in the NBA Finals two seasons ago as a member of the Miami Heat. But now that he's with the Purple & Gold, he's excited to be a part of another storied squad.

“It means a lot. I’m honored to be in this position to put on an LA Lakers jersey and it’s a powerhouse franchise and it means everything. It means a lot. Putting on and represent this city. Obviously, I’m a kid from Chicago, but I love LA.”

Playing with his childhood buddy is definitely a bonus.
