The Los Angeles Lakers are starting to fill out their roster after missing out on Kawhi Leonard.

The Lakers are reportedly expected to bring back Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, with ESPN's Ramon Shelburne reporting that the 26-year-old guard will get a two-year deal worth $16 million from the Purple and Gold.

Caldwell-Pope spent the past two seasons with the Lakers. The six-year veteran played in all 82 regular-season games for the team last year and posted 11.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest. In the 2017-18 season, he averaged 13.4 points and 5.2 boards in 74 games.

KCP will be joining a Lakers squad that will be headlined by LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The team tried to bring another superstar in Leonard and was actually considered favorites to land the two-time NBA champion; however, the Clippers won the race after also acquiring Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Following Leonard's decision, the Lakers also acquired Danny Green, who reportedly agreed to a two-year, $30 million deal.

Earlier in free agency, Los Angeles also signed Jared Dudley, who played for the Brooklyn Nets in 2018-19, and Troy Daniels who suit up for the Phoenix Suns this past campaign. The Lakers have a few more roster spots to fill, though they can now focus their attention on dealing with other free agents.
