Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis officially declined his player option on Sunday, which technically makes him an unrestricted free agent coming into the 2020 free agency.

With that said, it has been reported that the 2020 champions are poised to present several options to the 27-year old as they look to keep Davis as part of their plans moving forward.

The Lakers, sources said, will present several options to Davis and his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, in order to work with the superstar on the deal that makes him feel the most comfortable being part of the franchise moving forward.

For what it's worth, it has been largely known that Anthony Davis wants to return to the Lakers. Of course, LA can offer him a max deal or a shorter contract, like a one-plus-one deal that would give him flexibility.

It's almost unthinkable that Davis won't run it back with his partner LeBron James in LA after an incredible 2019-2020 season. On the same note, it's also going to be unimaginable that the Lakers front office won't move mountains to keep the seven-time All Star as they try to defend their 2020 crown.

Davis won his first title in the league on his debut season with the Lakers, all while averaging a team high 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 block in the Lakers' 16-5 post-season run. With COVID-19 having financial implications in the league, Davis and his reps will look to get the best scenario for the Chicago native moving forward.
