It hasn’t been that long since LeBron James first donned the Los Angeles Lakers jersey, but he’s already setting up drinking sessions with Purple and Gold royalty James Worthy.

Shortly after the Lakers notched their eight win in the first 10 games of the season, James took to Twitter to give a shout out to the Hall of Famer.

Worthy, who now calls Lakers games as a broadcaster, was quick to accept The King’s invitation.

Worthy, of course, belongs to the Mount Rushmore of Laker greats, winning three NBA titles with Los Angeles in the ‘80s. He spent his entire 12-year career with the Lakers, and had career averages of 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.1 assists.

“Big Game James” upped those numbers to 21.1 points come playoff time.

Worthy teamed up with legendary players Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to form one of the best super teams in NBA history.

James, meanwhile, has been doing quite well for himself recently, enlisting the aid of Anthony Davis in the offseason to form another formidable team in Hollywood. Their free agent acquisitions Danny Green, Avery Bradley, and Dwight Howard have also been spectacular for coach Frank Vogel.

The team currently preside at the top of the Western Conference after smashing the Suns, 123-115 on Tuesday.

James had a pedestrian outing (compared to his freakish usual numbers), finishing with 19 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds.

The Lakers are certainly clicking on all cylinders right now and looks like a team who can go all the way this season. There might just be more drinking sessions between Worthy and James in the future, if LA continues its winning ways.
