Anyone that grew up watching Space Jam doesn't need much of a reason to get excited for Space Jam 2. Especially since the release date has now been announced as July 16, 2021. However, if you did need help getting excited, LeBron James is here to help.

James is set to be the star of Space Jam 2, presumably taking up the type of role Michael Jordan had in the first movie.

There's a lot of things that will spark discussion with this movie, such as what the premise will be (how similar it will be to the old movie). Is it more of a remake or a sequel? Who will take up the other NBA roles (held by Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, Charles Barkley and Shawn Bradley in the first movie)?

No matter what happens in the movie, it's safe to assume it will generate a lot of talk and a lot of eyes.

Look at the excitement already. All that's happened is a release date was announced and it's been talked about heavily. Even crazier, that release date is over two years away.

With that in mind, it's insane to think about the excitement levels that will come. What about when the first trailer drops? What about when the other athletes are announced for the movie? Or the countdown begins on July 16, 2020 – or at the start of 2021.

All we do know is that James will be there to hype us up every step of the way. When the other athletes are announced, I'm sure they'll step in and get the hype train rolling even more. This should be a fun two years.
