Though the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James missed the NBA Playoffs for the first time since the 2004-05 season, he has been plenty busy this offseason. For one thing, James will likely start filming his follow-up to the all-time classic basketball film Space Jam this offseason – though he won’t have Giannis Antetokounmpo in the film. Lonzo Ball is a possibility, though!

Though James is not suiting up in the playoffs for the first time in 14 years, he still has plenty of other avenues in which to focus his efforts, with one of the most honorable being his incredible I Promise school in Akron, Ohio.

Of course, James was born in Akron, and he also delivered a championship to the state of Ohio in 2015-16 after coming back to defeat the Warriors after falling down 3-1.

James’s I Promise school has been a ringing success, and it shows that James is “more than an athlete.”

Due to his efforts getting the school off the ground and successful, James was named to Time Magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential People of 2019, with a blurb written by financial wizard Warren Buffett. James responded on Twitter to the honor.

Though he’s not involved in the playoff festivities this year, LBJ is still making headlines with his terrific off-court work in the community.
