Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James responded to a viral tweet depicting his hypothetical reaction to the James Harden trade.

James clearly found humor in the short clip, which jokingly quips Harden was dealt to the “Nets” and also features the LeBron impersonator saying he is not Thanos, the Titan character of Marvel fame.

Of course, the general gist is the only way to beat LeBron is by forming a superteam.

This notion really stems from the Golden State Warriors signing Kevin Durant following their historic loss at the hands of James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals. Golden State promptly won each of the next two NBA titles, defeating LeBron and the Cavs in consecutive seasons.

It did not take James very long to get back to the mountaintop. The Lakers' acquisition of Anthony Davis helped propel the Purple and Gold to the 2019-20 NBA title. Los Angeles then bolstered its opportunity to win future titles by extending both LeBron and AD while making a host of other additions in the offseason.

But the new-look Nets pose a real danger to LeBron's dominance over the league. Harden, Durant and Kyrie Irving are three of the very best shot creators in the NBA. Brooklyn will be unguardable if they all share the ball. The defense could be lackluster and depth will be a question mark, but the possibilities are rather tantalizing.

However, James has never been one to shy away from a challenge. The Lakers are also off to an excellent start, with the likes of Dennis Schroder and Marc Gasol taking pressure off James to constantly be on the ball and make plays.

Whether the Nets and Lakers meet in the Finals is a long way off. But superstars' desires to team up to defeat LeBron is a testament to his stature.
