It's widely accepted that Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is the most popular NBA player this side of the flat Earth.
Ever since entering the league in 2003, LeBron has maintained his status atop the pedestal. While he has a multitude of naysayers, exacerbated by his so-called penchant for forming super squads, it's clear that The King is still the biggest NBA superstar.
But according to an online survey by betting website BetUS, while LeBron is the most recognizable, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has the most die-hard fans among all NBA players. Curry edged LBJ by a hairline, 51 percent to 59 percent. Logic would agree to the result since Curry has only played for the Warriors his entire career while LeBron has already played for three squads.

LeBron, however, beat Curry in terms of percentage of games watched per season by fans, garnering 59 percent and 51 percent, respectively. But the no. 1 ranking didn't belong to LeBron. It belonged to Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant who tallied 61 percent. Also in the top five are Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks with 47 percent and 34 percent, respectively.
LeBron, meanwhile, recently eclipsed the 100 million mark in terms of Instagram followers. But according to BetUS, Curry has the most followers on social media overall, scoring 74 percent compared to LBJ's 72 percent.
For years, LeBron James and Stephen Curry have figured in intense battles, but in recent years, they've developed a more friendly relationship. Obviously, they are still the two most popular NBA players today and it's hard to disagree.
