Lonzo Ball sounded ready to move on to the next chapter of his young NBA career after getting traded this offseason. Ball was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the deal that sent Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in the offseason.

Ball told Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN that he was not bothered by the trade. The 21-year-old pointed out that he was quite prepared for anything that could happen because he has been hearing his name in trade rumors since his rookie season in the league.

“I've been hearing my name for two years now,” Ball said. “So it didn't bother me at all. We were all ready for it.”

He admitted that if he was a rookie, he would have felt bad because he really wanted to be a member of the Lakers. However, his first two years in the league made him realize that anything can happen because it is a business.

The former UCLA standout is expected to start for the new-look Pelicans squad. He will still be playing alongside Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart, who were also part of the Davis trade. The former second overall pick insisted that he is ready and excited for the fresh start in New Orleans.

Ball's first two seasons in Los Angeles did not go as planned. He was limited to just 99 games because of injuries. In those games, he averaged 10.0 points on top of 6.4 assists and 6.2 rebounds a game.
