On Saturday night, the Los Angeles Lakers made a bit of history as both LeBron James and Lonzo Ball each registered triple-doubles against the Charlotte Hornets. It's not a common occurrence that two players from the same team both put up triple-doubles in the same game, and this was definitely quite an accomplishment for both James and Ball.

Following the 128-100 win, head coach Luke Walton was visibly delighted with his team's remarkable effort on the evening. The 37-year-old coach turned out to be in a jovial mood, and even cracked a joke pertaining to the rich history of the Lakers franchise.

“I know it's not easy,” Walton exclaimed, via ESPN. “There have been a lot of good players in Lakers history and I figured Walton and Kobe (Bryant) would have done it a few times.”

This is probably the first time we've heard about the Walton-Bryant duo for the purple and gold. It is common knowledge that these two were teammates on the Lakers for a good number of years, but Walton was never the Robin to Bryant's Batman.

Nonetheless, Walton still had a rather memorable career with the Lakers. The Arizona product spent eight and a half seasons with the team, and was part of two title-winning runs. This was when the Bryant-led Lakers won back-to-back championships between 2009 and 2010.

Walton was drafted by the Lakers in 2003 as the 32nd overall pick, and he averaged 4.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.5 steals throughout his tenure with the purple and gold.
