The Los Angeles Lakers suffered two losses on Sunday. The Lakers lost Anthony Davis to a groin injury and then the game itself, 100-92, which evened up the series at 2-2. With Davis set to miss Game 5, the defending champions are in a bit of trouble against the second-seeded Suns.

However, the Lakers remain confident even after these setbacks. Veteran Marc Gasol is a player who could see more time on the court with Davis out, and he talked a big game in the wake of AD's injury.

Via Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times:

“There is plenty of confidence that we have now without AD. That’s not even a question for anybody in the locker room,” Lakers reserve center Marc Gasol said after he produced 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots in 23 minutes. “So, obviously you lose it in the moment of the game that can kind of get your mind off track a little bit for some people. It shouldn’t, though. I don’t know if that was the case, to be honest. I don’t know if that was with AD or without AD, but we just got to keep playing and that’s as simple as that.”

The Lakers lost their mojo in Game 4 without Davis on the court, so they're going to have to recover it in Game 4. LeBron James will have an opportunity to deliver an epic performance after playing well but not great through the first four games of this series.

Los Angeles went 19-17 without Davis during the regular season. Some of those games were without LeBron, so the Lakers should feel more confident given his presence. Still, it's going to be tough to win on the road in a hostile environment with so much at stake.
