The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off the shocker of free agency by signing reigning Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell, and it did not take long for the 6-foot-7 bruiser to fully embrace the Laker nation.

Following his surprising move, Harrell revealed his signatures sneaks, the TREZZ1. Of course, the new kicks will feature none other than the iconic the Purple and Gold colors.

Trez gave a shoutout to Devlin Carter of the SIA Collective for helping design the kicks. Montrezl Harrell added that he will release further information on the technology they used for his new Lakers-themed signature shoes.

After winning the Sixth Man of the Year award last season, many believed this would be the year Harrell would cash out in free agency. Instead, the former Los Angeles Clippers big man opted to sign a two-year, $19 million deal with the defending champions–with the second year being a player option.

Despite emerging as the top reserve in the league last year, Harrell had a pretty tumultuous season with the Clippers. The team certainly had a championship-caliber roster built around star forwards Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. However, they never truly gelled as a unit throughout the regular season.

At times, they looked like the most dominant team in all of basketball. But in some instances, they didn't look the part of a true title contender. The Clippers' roller-coaster campaign culminated with a disappointing playoff run that saw them choke away a 3-1 lead in the second round against the Denver Nuggets, preventing a highly anticipated Western Conference Finals showdown with the eventual champions, Lakers.

Now, Harrell joins a Lakers squad looking to repeat as NBA champions. Despite not going for a massive payday, Harrell gets the chance to win a championship with his new team.
