The Los Angeles Lakers shocked the basketball world on Monday after deciding to cut ties with veteran big man DeAndre Jordan. LA needed to make room for the signing of point guard DJ Augustin and unfortunately for Jordan, he was the odd man out.

NBA Twitter has unsurprisingly been all over this recent development. As a matter of fact, fans identified the exact moment that led the Lakers to decide to waive the 33-year-old Jordan. According to the keyboard warriors from the mean streets of Twitter, it was this particular play that was the last straw for DJ and the Lakers (h/t Shaqtin' a Fool on Twitter):

Sorry, DeAndre, but that inexplicable pass was as a prime candidate for Shaqtin' a Fool. Lakers fans on Twitter definitely seem to think so (h/t Larry Brown Sports):

The Lakers move on from Jordan after just half a season. During that span, the 6-foot-11 big man put up averages of 4.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in just 12.8 minutes per game.

Jordan isn't expected to spend too much time without a team, though, with the Philadelphia 76ers already linked to a swoop on the veteran once he clears the waiver wire. Some other teams could be interested too, so the Sixers may need to act quickly here.
