Los Angeles Lakers team owner Jeanie Buss recently revealed a cheeky Kobe Bryant gesture aimed at teammate Pau Gasol following their memorable bout during the 2008 Summer Olympics. According to Buss, Kobe decided to hang his gold medal in Gasol's locker as a reminder of Team USA's triumph over Gasol and the Spanish national squad.

Gasol has caught wind of Buss' revelation and has since come out with a straightforward three-word reaction via Twitter:

That's typical Kobe Bryant for you. Despite having a close personal relationship with Gasol, all this was thrown out of the window in the spirit of competition. Kobe's Team USA (the Redeem Team iteration) overcame the challenge posed by a highly-touted and star-studded Spain side en route to winning the coveted gold medal. Bryant just had to rub more salt into Gasol's wounds by hanging the medal in his locker. That's Mamba Mentality at its finest.

To be fair, it seemed like the gesture motivated Gasol. He understood what Bryant was trying to do and he did not take the gesture as an insult. Well, probably.

Whatever the case may be, LA went on to win back-to-back titles not long after. Gasol proved to be the missing piece to the puzzle as he helped Kobe and the Lakers bag their first championship in seven years.

Kobe is such a one-of-a-kind leader and he has some of the most unique ways of motivating his teammates. It feels like this post-Olympics gesture worked exactly as intended for Pau Gasol.
