Rich Paul, LeBron James' agent, dished out on what James' decision means — saying that it's different from his previous two free agency moves.

Speaking on NBA TV, Paul said that James' move to the Los Angeles Lakers was a basketball decision. He noted that the move to Miami was all about winning a championship. Meanwhile, his second stint in Cleveland was to deliver a promise. The recent move to the Lakers was about doing what makes him happy:

“For him, it was just a basketball decision. I think it was one of the biggest challenges this year.

This one, he really had no footing. Basically about what he wanted to do and what made him happy — and he earned that. Being in his 16th season.”

He added that no other athlete in his 16th season is enjoying the freedom that LeBron James has:

You don't have athletes in your 16th season that you're a number one free agent. Normally in your 16th season, they're trying to push you out of whichever league your playing. Or you take a step down.

Rich Paul also shared what he told James. At the end of the day, it's all about making a decision that would make you happy. Paul's job was simply to help him understand the landscape.

“My advice to him was do what makes you happy. Let me do my job in helping you understand the landscape and you tell me what's important to you.”
