The Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday and for Russell Westbrook, it was a homecoming in his former stomping ground. Russ remains to be one of the most well-loved figures in Thunder franchise history and the adoring home crowd made sure to give him a warm welcome.

Here's a look at Thunder fans giving Westbrook a hair-raising standing ovation prior to tipoff. The Lakers guard took it all in and he had a pretty epic reaction for the home crowd (h/t Cliff Brunt of the Associated Press):

Unfortunately, the angle of the clip above isn't too ideal. However, you can see Westbrook in the middle of the court as he accepted the Thunder fans' standing ovation. Russ was clearly pumped and the Lakers star made sure to thank the home fans for their awesome gesture. There's no denying that OKC still has a lot of love for Westbrook after all these years. It is also clear that the feeling is mutual for Russ.

The former league MVP is coming off his best performance as a member of the Lakers from Tuesday's overtime win over the San Antonio Spurs. Westbrook will be hoping to carry over this momentum against his former team as he looks to lead LA to a third consecutive win.
