There has been a lot of attention put on how Carmelo Anthony's situation with the Houston Rockets will turn out. In a way, the Rockets season hinges on how Anthony will be able to integrate himself in the Rockets' system especially if he's asked to play off the bench on most nights.

He made his Rockets debut on Wednesday and was somewhat underwhelming. He posted 9 points on 3-of-10 shooting in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Their next game will be against Los Angeles Lakers who will feature their own offseason acquisition in LeBron James.

Recently, James was asked for his thoughts regarding Anthony's situation. In a tweet from Kyle Goon of The Orange Country Register:

LeBron on Melo coming off the bench: “I mean, listen, once he gets in the game – whenever that may be – it’s going to be the same as always. Just that brotherhood, just knowing how far we’ve come in our career to still be at this point in our career. But it won’t be strange.”

Anthony is known to be one of James' closest friends going back to the 2003 NBA Draft where they were drafted first and third overall respectively.

The Lakers will be trying to bounce back as well off their loss to the Portland Trailblazers in their season opener. James looked pretty comfortable in a Lakers uniform as he posted 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go with 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and multiple highlight plays. If Anthony will play the bulk of the minutes in the small forward position, his one-on-one matchup with James will be one to watch.
