Less than a month before his tragic death, Kobe Bryant and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith were apparently at a New Year's Eve party in Bel Air. At the party, Bryant supposedly told Smith something that Los Angeles Lakers fans will be happy to hear.

Despite the other tough teams such as Los Angeles Clippers, Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets, Bryant told Smith that the Lakers have enough to win a championship.

Bryant passed away this past weekend at the age of 41 in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The accident also took the lives of Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna as well as seven other passengers.

Bryant will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best players in NBA history. The Black Mamba was a 15-time All-NBA performer, and if anyone knows anything about winning championships, it's the five-time champ and two-time Finals MVP.

At the time of writing, Bryant's prediction for the Lakers definitely seems plausible. the Lakers sit four games ahead of any other team in the Western Conference with a 36-10 record. The Purple and Gold franchise also own the second-best record in the entire NBA behind the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Lakers also have probably the league's best duo in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Both players are All-NBA First Team caliber players and even at 35 years old, James is playing basketball at an elite level.

Like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James is no stranger to the NBA Finals. The four-time NBA MVP made eight straight NBA Finals from 2011 to 2018, leading his teams to wins in three of those instances.
