Veteran swingman Andre Iguodala could join the Los Angeles Lakers if he reaches a buyout agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Chris Broussard of FOX Sports.

At this point, the move is merely speculative, as there has been no indication that Iguodala has chosen a new destination.

The longtime Swiss Army knife was traded by the Golden State Warriors to make room for All-Star D'Angelo Russell, who came in return for Kevin Durant via a sign-and-trade acquisition.

It's likely that Iguodala won't be playing for much longer at 35 years old and with a clear history of injuries and having played lower minutes to protect his body at this stage of his career.

Yet a team like the Lakers could use a veteran like him to reinforce a hollowed-out bench and give young players some purpose ahead of this experimental season with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the helm of it, plus potentially Kawhi Leonard.

Iguodala is owed $17.2 million for this season, the last of a three-year, $48 million deal he signed with the Warriors in 2017 after some hard-bargaining following his visit with the Houston Rockets.

If a buyout is successful, it's likely the Lakers could tender a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum, which could give him a chance to collect another ring at these last stages of his career.

Iggy's connection with former agent Rob Pelinka can play a part in this new partnership, though it'll likely be a few days before the domino effect potentially leads him there.
