The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a 10-10 start, far below preseason expectations for a team with stars such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. The tough start for the Lakers has head coach Frank Vogel on the hot seat, per NBA reporter Marc Stein.

Basically, there's increasing chatter among NBA coaches that Frank Vogel's job security is in danger. Stein notes that player trades would normally be the first thing for a struggling team with championship aspirations like the Lakers to consider, but that Los Angeles doesn't have a ton of leeway in that department.

Hence, the pressure on Vogel. Vogel, former head coach of the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic, owns a 408-350 career record, took two Pacers teams to the Conference Finals and obviously won a title with the Lakers in one of his two winning seasons in Los Angeles.
Vogel isn't Phil Jackson but it's hard to imagine that the Lakers would find a better option to lead the team than him. It's also unclear if firing Vogel would even fix the Lakers' problems, chief of which is the fact that they own the NBA's second-worst defense in terms of points per game allowed, via ESPN.
Plus, Vogel himself brings up the best point of all. The Lakers three big stars simply haven't had a lot of time to play together, given that James and Davis have been in and out of the lineup. It's probably too early for the Lakers to consider firing Vogel.
However, if the Lakers three stars are all in good health and the needle isn't moving, then Vogel could be in trouble.
