Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins on the same team again? Thomas is obviously all for it, as he recently gave his thumbs up to a Twitter fan suggesting that the diminutive Los Angeles Lakers guard and Boogie should join forces anew.

Both Thomas and Cousins are bound for free agency this summer, meaning that it’s a good time to speculate on the chances of the two being a tandem again. The two played together with the Sacramento Kings for three seasons before Thomas was traded to the Phoenix Suns in 2014.

Thomas would play for the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers before landing in La La Land via a trade back in February, when the Cavs nearly stripped their cupboard clean at the trade deadline.

Cousins, meanwhile, spent his first seven seasons in the NBA with the Kings. He was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans along with Omri Casspi last year in exchange for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, and a couple of draft picks.

The Lakers are among the top-free agent chasers in the summer. With a spacious financial room and with Los Angeles being a historically prime destination for NBA free agents, the Lakers are expected to be in play for some of the best players looking for a new contract this coming offseason, including DeMarcus Cousins. It’s uncertain, however, whether the team is interested in brining back Thomas.
