Despite the myriad of possibilities surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers impending free agency, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski believes the team's intent hasn't deviated from their preseason — hoping to acquire both LeBron James and Paul George this summer.

“The Lakers plan hasn’t changed. They want to get both of them,” said Wojnarowski. “They want a championship contender and that’s going to take a lot of good fortune in free agency to be able to get both those guys. Either of those players certainly transforms your team.”

George isn't the only hometown hero hoping to land in L.A., as another candidate has arisen in Kawhi Leonard, who reportedly hopes to land in the City of Angels after his reported rift with the San Antonio Spurs in light of his quad injury that kept him out for the vast majority of this 2017-18 season.

The Lakers are looking to make big moves after several years of getting shut down by the likes of Carmelo Anthony, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Greg Monroe — experiences that have forced them to grow their team through the draft, as most small market teams have for years.

Having laid down the blueprint with some young pieces in Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram, Los Angeles will have something else to sell other than beaches, sunshine, and exposure for once — boasting a front office with Magic Johnson at the top — a huge selling factor for these impending big-time free agents.
