The Los Angeles Lakers may be struggling and in danger of missing out on the playoffs, but they didn't let that ruin what was a historic night for LeBron James.

As LeBron passed Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan for fourth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list, the Purple and Gold commemorated the event with a tribute video for The King.

Los Angeles' tribute video featured LeBron and his journey to surpassing MJ, starting from his first career point as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. It showed highlights of the 34-year-old All-Star as he became the youngest player to reach 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 career points en route to where he is now.

Amazingly, the top four scorers in NBA history have all at least played for the Lakers. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387 points) remains no.1 on the list, followed by Karl Malone (36,928) and Kobe Bryant (33, 643).

LeBron James entered Wednesday showdown with the Nuggets averaging 27.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game. The four-time NBA MVP is just in the first season of the four-year, $154 million contract he signed with the Lakers last summer, meaning that he still has plenty of time left to further climb the scoring ladder and, possibly, surpass LA great Kobe Bryant.

Surely, the Lakers will have another epic video tribute when that happens.
