Since the Los Angeles Lakers selected Julius Randle with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Nick Young has been one of the very few teammates he has played with in all of his three seasons. As Young signed with the defending champion Golden State Warriors in free agency, they are still friends off the court.

Young recently attended Randle's wedding according to Bleacher Report:

After a strong start and finish in his hometown, Young wanted an opportunity to play for a championship contender. With Draymond Green heavily recruiting the 10-year veteran, he eventually signed a one-year, $5.2 million deal. As the Warriors re-signed most of last season's roster, Young is expected to thrive in head coach Steve Kerr's system.

For the Lakers, head coach Luke Walton will have a new backcourt for the 2017-18 NBA season. While they have lost three-point shooting with Young and D'Angelo Russell, President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka drafted Lonzo Ball and signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

With the storied franchise looking to preserve cap space for 2018 free agency, it was difficult to see Young returning after declining his $5.7 million player option. Young averaged 13.2 points on 40.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc after being in former head coach Byron Scott's doghouse the previous two seasons.
