Things have been bad for the Detroit Lions, but it appears it's getting even worse. During the game against the Chicago Bears, star running back D'Andre Swift has fallen to injury.

According to the Lions' PR team, D'Andre Swift is questionable to return with a shoulder injury. It didn't look great, as Swift was favoring his shoulder heavily on the field and the sideline before heading to the Lions' locker room.

It was a routine play made by the Bears' defense. It appears as though Swift just fell awkwardly on his shoulder. NFL on ESPN shares a couple of snapshots showing the play that knocked D'Andre Swift out of the game for the time being.

Hopefully, the injury isn't serious. Unfortunately, Swift has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the game. The Lions running back has been coming into his own recently, showing off his skills as an elite rusher and pass option for Detroit. We'll see what happens, but Detroit should be cautious with Swift moving forward.

Based on the fact the Lions have no chance of making the playoffs, the coaching staff is likely to take their time with Swift. Letting him rest up and heal his shoulder is a necessity for the future success of this franchise. D'Andre Swift is a monster out of the backfield and he'll play an integral part for years to come.

Keep an eye on the Lions and D'Andre Swift, as more information regarding his shoulder will come to light throughout the week. For now, Jamaal Williams takes over as the lead running back for Detroit.
