Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn is not here for the Matthew Stafford slander.

Stafford may have had one of the worst statistical seasons of his career, but Bob Quinn recently reassured people at a press conference that he will still be on board with the team, regardless.

“No, Matthew Stafford is our quarterback. He'll be our quarterback,” Quinn said, adding that Stafford's problems are indicative of the team's problem as a whole, not of something, in particular, he did on his own.

When asked what the team needs to be more successful next season, however, Quinn played it cagey and said that he would be evaluating personnel over the course of the next few weeks, but didn't get into specifics.

“We need more playmakers on both sides of the ball. We need more consistency,” Quinn said.

In addition to the issue of Matthew Stafford, Quinn tackled the issues of the trades — and, more specifically, the Golden Tate trade, which many believe played a huge role in the Lions' bad season.

But Quinn dismissed this claim, claiming that “nothing happened” until the trade deadline, when Philadelphia called.

He also talked about the release of tight end Eric Ebron, and how the team was unsuccessful in securing Rob “The Gronk” Gronkowski.

Stafford ended up completing 66.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,777 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in the 2018 NFL season.
