The Detroit Lions have the unenviable task of trying to stop Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in their Week 4 duel.  Stopping one of the most dynamic QBs in NFL history is a tough assignment for anyone.

However, stopping the Chiefs is not impossible. Several pundits gave their thoughts on how the Lions can possibly stop Kansas City from doing whatever they want on offense.

“The formula seems to be, ‘OK, do you really want to play shootout ball with them and are you equipped to do so?' ” Fox analyst Charles Davis said, per the Detroit Free Press. “I would posit that if you’re the Lions, you’re probably not thinking in that direction. You probably think to yourself, ‘No one is going to shut down Kansas City, how do you limit them?’ Not just with your defense, you have to limit them with your offense.”

They say that offense is the best defense in certain scenarios. Facing a dangerous passing team like the Chiefs is one department in which they can use a bit of passing power.

Matthew Stafford has been a decent QB with his 831 passing yards and six passing TDs, but he needs to play like a god to win against Kansas City. Kerryon Johnson, Marvin Jones, and Kenny Golladay must also play well.

The defense can only do so much against a quarterback as effective as Mahomes. Since hey cannot hope to stop the Chiefs on the drive, they must at least pressure them on offense. They have the quality to pull through and are still undefeated in the season.

If there's any game where they can prove to everyone that they're no pushovers this year, it's this one.
