Liverpool booked its spot in the Champions League final on Tuesday after a dramatic second-half comeback saw them defeat Villarreal 5-2 on aggregate scoring. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who is a part-owner of the Premier League club, reacted to the win via Twitter, and he was fired up after the Reds managed to turn things around and clinch their place in the Champions League final.

James was grinning ear to ear after the Liverpool win, which saw the Reds overcome a 2-0 first-half deficit to win the game 3-2. Having entered the match with a 2-0 lead from the first leg of the matchup, Liverpool advanced with a 5-2 lead on aggregate scoring.

Villarreal got off to a roaring start with two first half goals to erase the work Liverpool had done in the first leg. Entering the second half all squared on aggregate scoring, the Premier League giants showed up in full force for the second half, tucking away three goals and securing their spot in the final.

The final is scheduled for May 28, so perhaps we'll see LeBron make the trip out to Paris to support Liverpool. The Reds will be facing Manchester City or Real Madrid, depending upon who wins Wednesday's game. With the Lakers' offseason started early, there's a chance James will try to catch the coveted Champions League final in person.

James purchased an ownership stake in Liverpool FC back in 2011, and has since been one of their most vocal supporters on social media. That held true on Tuesday when they took care of business in Spain and booked their ticket to the final in Paris.
