Liverpool handled business in the first leg of their Champions League semifinals matchup versus Villarreal. The Reds had some issues scoring the first goal, but then capitalized on the generally poor Villarreal showing to score one more past goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

Now, entering the second game, Liverpool has a 2-0 lead and looks set to make their third Champions League final in the last five years. Still, they have one more game to play before getting the chance to win the European Cup.

Here are three bold Liverpool predictions for Champions League semifinals second leg vs. Villarreal.

Bold Liverpool predictions for Champions League match vs. Villarreal

Liverpool will not slow down

With all due respect to Villarreal, their showing in the first game was borderline embarrassing. They mustered up just one shot in the entire game, zero on target, and held just 26% of the possession. That gave Liverpool a chance to seal the deal in the first game, which they somewhat did.

Two goals is a fair advantage, especially considering the skill discrepancy between the teams. Yet, one early goal in front of the rowdy crowd at the Estadio de la Ceramica and it will be an entirely different world for Liverpool. Villarreal lost only one game at their stadium in the Champions League this year, and it was due to two late goals by Manchester United in the group stages. Home is where they dominated both Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Thus, Liverpool should and ultimately will not slow down. What we have seen in the first leg at Anfield will likely be much of the same for Liverpool in the second game. They will look to fully press whenever Villarreal has the ball and they will look to play with a ton of energy. Despite the fact that their EPL title chase is such that they cannot drop any points, manager Jurgen Klopp still decided to rest some players in the match versus Newcastle, so there will be fresh legs on the side of the English team come Tuesday.

Villarreal is still a tough nut to crack, so Liverpool will look to continue decimating them as they did in the first 90 minutes in England.

Sadio Mane will run the show

Recently, there has been some talk of Sadio Mane sneaking into the Ballon d'Or discussion. While most of the limelight is usually on his teammate, Mohamed Salah, Mane has quietly had a great season playing on the left wing. Now, Mane is the type of player who likely does not really care about individual accolades, but it must be flattering to be in the conversation. Thus, Mane will likely look to be active in this match and the final  if Liverpool does end up coming to Paris at the end of May.

He is actually a fairly similar player to Salah in a lot of regards.

The Liverpool duo share the ability to break through the lines, play physically despite a seemingly weaker stature and have incredible pace that cannot be matched by most opposing fullbacks. Despite the pace of both Villarreal fullbacks, they will not be able to cope with either of the Liverpool wingers. Still, due to the fact that Mane might be in slightly better form right now, it will be Liverpool's left side that should be the point of attack.

Mane should have a field day running at Villarreal's defense, especially when considering that the Yellow Submarine needs to play much more offensively if they want a chance in the tie.

Liverpool will destroy Villarreal once again

Unfortunately for the Spanish club, they will not be playing in the Champions League final. Liverpool is just too strong right now and will show it once again in Tuesday's match. Due to the fact they are likely not lifting the EPL trophy come the end of the season, Liverpool will need to put a show on for their fans. There was a show at Anfield already, but due to the defensive setup of Villarreal and, frankly, a lack of composure on Liverpool's side, they did not fully use the large skill discrepancy to win the match by a larger margin.

Due to the necessity of Villarreal to attack this game and chase after a positive result, there will be a ton of space for Liverpool. With two rapid wingers and a stable midfield, space is all they need for another masterful game. Additionally, Liverpool would be sending a message to either Manchester City or Real Madrid that they will be entering the final primed and ready to be the new Champions of Europe.
