Manchester United got quite a scare on Monday morning when star attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes was reportedly involved in a car crash ahead of training. The Portuguese international was involved in a two-car wreck early Monday morning, but reports indicate he didn't suffer any serious injuries. Photos of the crash show Fernandes' vehicle with a bit of damage, though overall it looks like the other driver's vehicle was the larger victim.

TalkSPORT indicates the driver of the other vehicle, a Volkswagen, suffered whiplash, but ultimately neither party sustained any injuries of serious nature. In the photos provided, Fernandes can be seen speaking with police officers in the aftermath of the incident.

Fernandes is expected to take part in training for Manchester United on Monday, and the crash isn't anticipated to have any impact on his ability to take part in the Red Devils' crucial fixture against Liverpool on Tuesday.

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick provided an update on Fernandes' status after the incident, offering some peace of mind to fans.

“[Fernandes] was training with the team. Obviously the accident happened on the way to [the Manchester United training center in] Carrington. But as far as I know, nobody was injured. He trained with the team and he was okay, and that's why I think he will also be okay for [Tuesday].”

Manchester United will take on Liverpool Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. EST in what will be a crucial clash for both clubs. A surprise win on the road for Ralf Rangnick's side could see the team claw back into Champions League qualification, and having Fernandes available will be critical.
