The New Orleans Pelicans may have a new applicant for an assistant coach position in their team.

No less than rapper and record label owner Master P has made it known that he is interested in being part of Alvin Gentry‘s coaching staff in the future. He also shared what pitch he'll have for the team's front office and that he is seriously contemplating being an assistant coach for them.

He even gave his thoughts on LaVar Ball and how he brings a lot of attention to his sons. Being a father of a college basketball player himself, Master P said he understands where he is coming from and that the public is just not used to seeing a confident dad like him talk about his sons that highly.

The 47-year-old is no stranger to the NBA as he is known to play basketball and has participated in the celebrity game in the past during All-Star Weekend.

Born and raised in the Big Easy, Master P is a huge fan of the Pelicans and is also good friends with Anthony Davis. Should he ultimately be hired to help the coaching staff, he could be a huge plus for them especially in recruiting players, as he is a well respected artist and his stature can give the them an advantage against other teams.
