The biggest storylines of the 2018 NBA Draft were mostly centered around which players were going to be lottery picks. However, point guard Isaiah Thomas made it clear is interest was in the last pick of the draft. Enter: Kostas Antetokounmpo.

As a former titleholder of “Mr. Irrelevant”, Thomas offered his services to the newest member of the club on Twitter:

It appears it took a while for Dallas Mavericks power forward Kostas Antetokounmpo to get in contact with Thomas.

Fortunately, Antetokounmpo was able to get in touch later that day.

Kostas Antetokounmpo was taken 60th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers before being subsequently traded to Dallas. Needless to say, there is plenty he can take away from the book of Thomas.

The pint-sized point guard spent the first couple of seasons finding his footing with the Sacramento Kings before he finally started to make a name for himself. However, things still took some time as he did not make an All-Star team until his seventh year in the league.

Then again, Antetokounmpo already knows how things can be a process. His brother, Giannis, is a prime example of being patient with a player's development. His skill set did not start to flourish with the Milwaukee Bucks until his fourth year in the NBA.

That said, it is encouraging to see the young Antetoukounmpo already has a solid stable of mentors in his corner to start his career. Thomas' current status as a free agent could allow him to potentially meet up with the “Antetokounbros” at some point in the offseason.
