There's a lot to love about the Dallas Mavericks this season, and that definitely includes the play of Luka Doncic. For former Mavs guard Jason Terry, Doncic is the kind of player that rarely comes along, one who “always put your team in a position to win.”

That's some high praise for Doncic, as it's usually reserved to players like someone of a LeBron James. But so far, Doncic has proven to be that elite player who can elevate the ceiling of a team. That's not to say Doncic doesn't need help, but the Mavs are certainly a better unit when the Slovenian star is running the show.
So far this season, Doncic is leading the Mavs in points (27.8), rebounds (9.1), and assists (8.5) per game. He's also been making three 3-pointers per contest and recording 1.2 steals per outing — both top numbers for Dallas as well.
The Mavericks are currently inside the playoff picture in the Western Conference with a 45-29 record. They are among the steadiest teams in the league, thanks to Doncic and a stellar defense that is allowing fewer than 105 points per contest. With only eight games remaining in their regular-season schedule, Doncic and the Mavs are looking to step it up even more to generate as much momentum as they can for the playoffs.
