Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard has nothing but respect and admiration for Dallas Mavericks youngster Luka Doncic following the conclusion of their epic playoffs battle.

After being down 2-0 at the start of the series, the Clippers escaped with a crucial Game 7 win as they punched their ticket to the second round of the 2021 postseason. However, it was no easy feat, as Luka came out firing on all cylinders in the do-or-die showdown in a bid to get his team to the next level.

While Doncic's brilliant effort went for naught, Leonard couldn't help but show his amazement to the talent of the Mavs superstar and how unstoppable of a player he has become in just his third year in the league.

“He's a phenomenal player. Great 1-on-1 player. Can pass to his teammates. You can't just pick one game to lock in on him,” Leonard said on ABC in his post-game interview, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

Luka Doncic bagged 46 points against the Clippers in Game 7, and that is on top of seven rebounds and 14 assists. The Clippers simply had no answer for him throughout, though it was still not enough to power the Mavs to a second-round appearance.

Kawhi Leonard is spot-on with his comments of the Mavs playmaker, though. Doncic has truly established himself as one of the elites, and despite another postseason heartbreak at the hands of the Clippers, nothing can take away the greatness he has shown.
