Kristaps Porzingis knows he wasn't able to show his best in the Dallas Mavericks' recent run in the 2021 playoffs, and he's using that disappointment as he gears up for next season.

The Mavs failed to move on to the second round of the postseason for the second straight campaign, and a lot of people have blamed Porzingis for his failure to step up as a true second star behind Luka Doncic.  Moreover, not long after their playoffs exit, several trade talks and trade rumors popped up involving the Latvian forward. Simply put, some people believe his time in Dallas has come to an end since he can't seem to mesh well with Luka and his injury history and health have been frustrating.

Sure enough, Porzingis has heard all the “noise.” However, instead of ranting and pointing fingers on who's to blame for his decreased level of play, he vowed to grind and get back to that elite level which made him an All-Star in 2018. KP also emphasized that fans will get to see “Unicorn 2.0” next season.

“Going into this off season with a chip on my shoulder and I'm going to use all this noise to fuel me even more,” the Mavs star wrote on Instagram. “Only focused on what I can control and that's grinding to be better each and every day.

Kristaps Porzingis has not developed much chemistry with Luka as the Mavs hoped for, which is why it has been pretty much an issue why KP wasn't as involved in the offense as he would like. Nonetheless, that is not something that is difficult to fix, especially if Porzingis is able to stay healthy and stay on the court longer.

It will be interesting to see how Rick Carlisle will be able to utilize both Luka and Kristaps in the offense to take the Mavs' offense to the next level. Nonetheless, it is certainly pretty exciting to see what KP will do to prove his doubters wrong.
