Before the 2019-20 season got suspended due to COVID-19, Mavs power forward Kristaps Porzingis believes he and Luka Doncic “were really getting in a good rhythm playing with each other.”

Now, Porzingis is hoping he and Doncic can recapture their magic with the Mavs whenever basketball is resumed:

“Probably just playing at home, playing in front of our fans again and having fun out there,” Kristaps Porzingis said, via The Dallas Morning News. “I feel like me and Luka (Doncic) were really getting in a good rhythm playing with each other right before this whole thing happened and hopefully, we can get back to that as soon as possible.”

The Mavs were in seventh place in the Western Conference standings prior to play getting suspended. They had a record of 40-27.

In his first season with the Mavs after beginning his NBA career with the New York Knicks, Porzingis was averaging 19.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists. The 24-year-old, who missed the entire 2018-19 season, was shooting 42.0 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the free-throw line as Dallas' second option on offense behind Luka.

Doncic has taken the NBA world by storm. The new Mavs superstar was putting up 28.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists in 54 games before Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 and Adam Silver had to suspend the season. He was also in the MVP conversation.

The Mavs are lucky they have two All-Stars leading the future in the post-Dirk Nowitzki era.
