Dallas Mavericks and Slovenian star Luka Doncic let his temper get the best of him again during the FIBA World Cup. Doncic has struggled throughout his career with letting his emotions get out of control, and the FIBA World Cup was no different.

This cost him and the Slovenian team during Wednesday's quarterfinal loss to Canada. During the fourth quarter of the 100-89 loss which knocked Slovenia out, Doncic received his second technical foul of the game for complaining to the referees. The second foul forced Doncic to be ejected from the game.

Even with the ejection, Doncic led his team with 26 points, four rebounds, and five assists. He also led his team in minutes with almost 30 despite missing the last six and a half minutes of the game. The loss of Doncic this late in the game really hurt any chances of Slovenia coming back to defeat Canada.

Following the game, Doncic took accountability for his behavior, saying, “It’s a lot of emotions. A lot of times, I don’t control myself, which I’ve been having problems with,” via Tim Cato of The Athletic.

Earlier this week following the loss, Luka Doncic suggested that the referees were calling fouls on him that they wouldn't on certain other stars, like Canada's Dillon Brooks. However, Brooks was ejected right before Doncic in the game. Still, as Doncic himself pointed out, that doesn't excuse him from complaining to the refs and getting costly fouls for him and his team. Doncic will need to continue working on this issue to avoid getting technical fouls in the future.
