Throughout his NBA career, Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic has been a man of many different talents. He has been the rim protector, the lob catcher, the ball retriever, and nowā€¦the rim fixer.

Ā

As you can see in the video, Boban is called upon at about the six-minute mark or the second quarter when the rim needed a huge adjustment or the game was not going to be able to proceed. Instead, Boban provided perhaps his biggest boost to the Mavs in quite some time. That is because, unfortunately for Boban fans, he has not played in a game for the Mavs since December 27th. Originally out due to the league's health and safety protocols, Boban has failed to find a role on the team since his return on January 20th. That didn't matter on Friday, however, as even though Boban might not be playing ā€œhero minutesā€ was still able to save the day.

On the year, Boban is averaging 4.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in just 5.9 minutes per game (the lowest of his entire career.) His name has been floated about in possible trade deadline deals as a potential ā€œsalary-matcher.ā€ That could theoretically open up some more minutes for Boban if he is traded to a place that needs a backup center. The NBA's trade deadline is less than a week away on Thursday, February 10th and the Mavs have been in search of players that complement their star point guard, Luka Doncic.
