The Dallas Mavericks may have lost to the Brooklyn Nets by a large margin, but that didn't stop rookie sensation Luka Doncic from making plays that would wow the crowd at Barclays Center.

In fact, he made one just before the second quarter of the game ends..

He nailed a halfcourt shot to end the first half, and it received loud cheers from the Nets fans.

Although it was a stellar play, Doncic and the Mavs played poorly for the most part and went on to lose 127-88.

Doncic finished with 16 points and six rebounds. He also made just one assist, as his teammates struggle to find their shooting touch.

Luka has undoubtedly become the Mavericks' best player this season, as well as their franchise player for the foreseeable future. He's so good that it forced Dallas to trade another promising young star, Dennis Smith Jr., to the New York Knicks last month.

It's clear that he's ready to take over the franchise that was carried by future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki for the past 21 years.

The team's record this season may be a downer, but they are pretty optimistic about Doncic's potential. In fact, they are banking on what he can do so much that they paired him with someone who has an uncertain future health-wise in Kristaps Porzingis.

Doncic will certainly repay the franchise's trust in him within the next few years.
