Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes ended their regular season campaign on a high note. They had a three-game losing skid which was snapped when they overcame Boston College in the last game of the season. Despite having a seven-win record and being eligible to be assigned to a bowl matchup, Tyler Van Dyke seems to want more from the squad but it looks like they would not be able to deliver. This is why Emory Williams might have a larger role heading into next season.

Tyler Van Dyke is set on leaving the Miami football program and entering the transfer portal, per Pete Thamel of ESPN. The Hurricanes quarterback has undergone a lot of tough challenges in the squad but is now ready to move on.

But, he did not disappoint in leading Miami's air attacks this season. In their most recent win over Boston College, Van Dyke was torching everyone that was thrown at him. He was blazing hot with 290 passing yards and even showed some signs of versatility by rushing nine yards. This got Miami to two trips to the end zone for six points each. This happened in a dominant win with a 20-to-45 scoreline,

His game still leaves a lot to be desired for any coach that gets him. But, it is nothing that a good offensive line cannot fix. For instance, he had 13 incomplete passes despite attempting 36 of them. The upside is there but he just needs a better system.

Miami and Mario Cristobal, on the other hand, will have to make do with Emory Williams for now. He has already shown flashes of being serviceable and at times great quarterback for the Hurricanes against the Clemson squad. Williams notched 24 completions with 33 passing attempts along with a touchdown in a game that ended with a score of 20 to 28.
