Michigan is days away from playing in the Rose Bowl against Alabama but they're preparing for the championship chase for the 2024 season. In addition to the 27 players who joined the team last week during National Signing Day, the Wolverines also picked up former Northwestern offensive lineman Josh Priebe per a post on his social media accounts.
He posted on his Twitter account, “Excited for the next chapter! Go Blue!!”
Pribe, a native of Edwardsburg, Michigan, gained recognition for his impressive physical stature, standing at 6'5″ and weighing 310 pounds. In 2020, this talented athlete decided to join Northwestern University, turning down several scholarship offers from renowned college football programs such as Michigan State, Auburn, Nebraska, Ohio State, Miami, and Tennessee. As a true freshman, Pribe showcased his skills in eight out of nine games. He continued to excel in his sophomore year, starting and appearing in nine games in 2021, and accumulating seven starts (with eight appearances) in 2022.
Throughout his time at Northwestern, Pribe accumulated a total of 28 starts and nearly 1,800 snaps as a left guard. Notably, he played in all 12 games during the most recent season, earning him 3rd-team All-Big Ten honors for his outstanding performance.
Priebe is a valuable asset to the team, especially considering that Michigan will be losing talented players on their offensive line who have declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, including Trevor Keegan, Drake Nugent, and Zak Zinter.
Michigan looks to bring home a championship as they gear up to play Alabama on New Year's Day in the Rose Bowl for the chance to face either Texas or Washington in the College Football National Championship.
