The All-Star Game is coming up soon and the MLB just announced the starters for the game that will take place in Colorado. After a year without an All-Star Game, it is refreshing to see the starters announced, and will be great to see the festivities that take place during the All-Star week.
Here is the complete list of the starters for both the American League and National League, with Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels as the headliners– both of who are appearing in their first All-Star Game.
National League All-Star: Buster Posey, Freddie Freeman, Adam Frazier, Fernando Tatis Jr., Ronald Acuna Jr. Nick Castellanos, and Jesse Winker.
American League All-Star: Salvador Perez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Marcus Semien, Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, Mike Trout, Aaron Judge, Teoscar Hernandez, Shohei Ohtani
Of note, the Cincinnati Reds have two outfielders, and the American League infield is full of Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox on the list of starters for the All-Star Game.

Not very many surprises here, except maybe Mookie Betts being left off of the National League outfield. Betts has statically had a down year, but with the number of Dodgers voters, it is a bit surprising to see him excluded.
Ironically enough, St. Louis Cardinals' third baseman Nolan Arenado was playing against his former team, the Colorado Rockies, when the news came in that he was an All-Star starter, which is also the site for the game.
All the players are deserving, and the National League infield of Adam Frazier and Fernando Tatis Jr. will be fun to watch. While Ohtani has been named as the starting designated hitter, he could very well also be named as an All-Star for the pitchers for the American League.
Stay tuned for the final list of pitchers and reserves, and for now, congratulations to all the players who have been named All-Star Starters.
