On Friday evening the Rising Stars event began in Charlotte, with the best rookies and sophomores this year playing in an exhibition match. It's players from the United States versus those from around the world.

During the second quarter of the game, Los Angeles Lakers star forward Kyle Kuzma went to the basket with a nasty windmill dunk. You can watch Kuzma in action in the video below:

Kuzma has had an excellent year for the Lakers this season. He's really meshed with newcomer LeBron James. He's becoming less of a one-dimensional player and a better overall player. The 23-year-old is averaging 19.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from beyond the arc.

The Lakers this season have struggled without James on the court. For nearly a month in January, James was unable to play due to a left groin strain. This put the offensive load on the shoulders of Lonzo Ball, Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram. Though the Lakers were floating around .500, they struggled without their superstar.

Since coming back James has brought them back into the playoff hunt. James and Kuzma work off each other fairly well. Even though the Lakers were rumored to have offered Kuzma for Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans, it seems as if his relationship with James is still intact.

The Lakers this season have gone 28-29 and are sitting 10th in the NBA's Western Conference. They will face off next against the Houston Rockets at home.
