Fans have seen a lot of the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, as the team has 22 previous appearances in the NBA's championship series. The team made it to the final stage of the postseason as recently as 2022. On the other hand, the Celtics' Finals opponent, the Dallas Mavericks, have only made the Finals twice before.

The matchup is an intriguing one, and all basketball fans will have their eyes on the action, especially considering all of the storylines that make this series interesting. While plenty of fans will watch on TV, some fans will want to get a better view of the action and watch the games in person. In this article, we will look at how much tickets will cost for the 2024 NBA Finals.

When and where are the NBA Finals?

The Boston Celtics have been the best team throughout the season, and they finished with the best record in the league. Because of that, they will have home-court advantage in the NBA Finals. That means Games 1, 2, 5, and 7 will be at their home, the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The Mavericks will host Games 3, 4, and 6 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

NBA Finals tickets are available on Vividseats. Ticket prices for Game 1 start at $574 and are as expensive as $5,957. The average price is about $700-800. Additionally, you can get VIP tickets that surpass $6,000. Games 2 tickets go up in price, as the least amount of money it will cost to get in is $675, while top-end expensive tickets are over $9,000. The average price is about $100 more expensive than it was in Game 1, too.

As the series makes its way to Dallas, it will only cost more to watch the Finals in person. Game 3 tickets are at least $680, and they can cost up to over $10,000, with the most expensive tickets being listed at $29,736. Game 4 is the first game where the series could be closed out, so prices skyrocket then, too. The cheapest tickets are $778, while luxurious tickets will cost over $10,000.

The series will go back to Boston for Game 5, and once again, tickets get more expensive. The lowest you can pay to watch Game 5 is $864, and it'll likely cost you over $1,000 to watch the game. Of course, the series might not go this far, but prices really become unreasonable in Game 6. The cheapest tickets for that game are listed at $1,295, and it may cost you over $2,000 just to get average seats. As of right now, Game 7 tickets aren't quite as unreasonable, and you should be able to get in for less than $2,000, although prices will surely increase if the series does extend that far.

Tickets for the NBA Finals are similarly priced on Ticketmaster and Seatgeek.

NBA Finals history

The NBA Finals first took place in 1947, back when the league was known as the BAA. Three years later, the league rebranded to the NBA, and we have seen plenty of teams advance to the league's biggest stage since. Even so, arguably no team has had more NBA Finals success than the Celtics. Their 17 championships are tied for the most in league history, and now they have a chance to take sole possession of first place in that regard. Boston has only lost the NBA Finals five times, too.

The Mavericks, on the other hand, will become the fourth team with exactly three Finals appearances. They lost it all back in 2006 with Dirk Nowitzki leading the way before the Hall of Famer led the team back in 2011, where they won one of the most iconic series in league history.

The 2024 NBA Finals are set up to be memorable. The Celtics have made the Conference Finals in six of the last eight years, but they haven't been able to bring home the Larry O'Brien Trophy during that time.

Meanwhile, Luka Doncic has taken Nowitzki's place as Dallas' European megastar, and he will be desperate to get the championship that Nowitzki wasn't able to get until later in his career.

Additionally, Kristaps Porzingis is a former Maverick who was cast out by Dallas, while Kyrie Irving is a former Celtic who didn't end on good terms with his team in Boston. There are revenge storylines left and right, and the stakes are at an all-time high. You won't want to miss any of the action, and buying NBA Finals tickets and watching the game in person can be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if it is feasible.
