Golden State Warriors guard, and restricted free agent, Quinn Cook has received “early interest” from seven NBA teams this summer, including the Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Miami heat, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, and Dallas Mavericks, HoopsHype’s Alex Kennedy tweets.

Cook, 26, has played a reserve role at point guard for the Warriors the past two seasons, earning a champion ring with the dynasty squad in 2018 as Cook and Golden State toppled the Cleveland Cavaliers to win their third Larry O’Brien trophy in four seasons.

At 6-foot-1, the diminutive Cook is likely looking for a backup floor-general position with the aforementioned seven organizations.

The Wizards are searching for stopgap solutions at point guard while franchise cornerstone and All-Star John Wall is sidelined with an Achilles injury, which will put him out of business for 12 months (a return likely closer to January or February of 2020).

The Sixers are looking for more ball handlers to assist 6-10 point-forward Ben Simmons in the backcourt as the burgeoning team continues to build towards contention in the Eastern Conference.

Before Oakland, Cook played for the Dallas Mavericks, another suitor, and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Cook has averaged 7.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in 121 total appearances, shooting 47.4% from the field, an impressive 41.8% from three-point range, and 78.6% from the free throw line in his three-year NBA tenure.
