A wild morning of Anthony Davis rumors continued when Davis appeared on the Media Day set of NBA TV and revealed that he does not, in fact, have a “list” of preferred destinations:

Davis was steadfast in asserting that he never really had any kind of list, and that his priority is being with an organization that wants to win.

This is a stark contrast to the reports that circulated before the trade deadline. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Davis had made the Pelicans aware of the four teams he would want to be traded to, notably the Lakers, Knicks, Clippers and Bucks.

There was also hesitancy from Davis' camp in acknowledging Boston as a trade destination. But the superstar power forward has been distancing himself from those reports at Media Day.

Davis told the NBA TV set that he did not care whether he was traded to a big or small-market team, just that he would be excited for the new opportunity and then “see what happens” when he becomes an unrestricted free agent after next season.

This is likely to open up the market for Davis, though it would be a surprise if the Boston Celtics were not considered the frontrunners to land the star power forward this summer.

The Pelicans refused to engage the Lakers at the end of the trade deadline despite Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson throwing the kitchen sink at them.

Meanwhile, the Celtics have the ability to offer Jayson Tatum and a slew of first-round picks among other assets, and Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix reported that Boston actually requested that New Orleans wait until the summer to hear their offer.

The Celtics cannot make an offer for Davis until Kyrie Irving becomes a free agent, due to the Rose Rule.
