Hall of Famer and ā€œInside the NBAā€ host Charles Barkley does not like the chances of the Denver Nuggets pulling an upset against the heavily-favored Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference semifinals. As a matter of fact, Barkley is adamant that the Nuggets have absolutely no chance of advancing to the next round.

Barkley made his bold claim during the halftime show of the series opener between the two sides:

This is definitely not the first time Barkley has come out with an all-encompassing statement. Just recently, he claimed that the Portland Trail Blazers were going to make it all the way to the NBA Finals this season. When Portland defeated L.A. in Game 1 of their first-round matchup, Barkley also brought out the broom to insinuate that the Blazers were going to sweep the top-seeded Lakers in the series. We all know how that turned out.

As always, it's necessary to take Barkley's statement with a grain of salt.

Then again, he has a valid point here about the Clippers-Nuggets matchup. LA held off a formidable challenge by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round, while Denver had to go all the way to seven games (and almost lost) against the Utah Jazz.Ā On paper, the Clippers also have the stronger squad, with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George leading the way.

Despite the odds being stacked against the Denver in this series, however, it is probably too early to say that they have absolutely no chance here. We have seen a few upsets in this season's playoffs thus far, and on a good day, the Nuggets themselves could be capable of an upset.
