Thomas Robinson is on his road back to the NBA.

Selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings out of the University of Kansas, Robinson has had a nomadic basketball career since then.

Now, he has signed an NBA G League contract, according to Adam Johnson of 2 Ways & 10 Days, which leaves open the possibility of him latching on with a franchise down the stretch of the 2018-19 year.

Robinson last suited up in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2016-17 campaign, appearing in 48 games (one start) and averaging 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in just 11.7 minutes of play. Since then, his basketball journey has taken him to BC Khimki in Russia before a brief stint with the Atlanta Hawks in the preseason.

Since December, the 27-year-old has latched on with the Beiking Fly Dragons in China.

Bouncing around has been Robinson's m.o. since his professional career began, playing just 51 games off the bench with the Kings before he was traded to the Houston Rockets. After just 19 games in Houston, he was dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers where he had his longest stop to this point: 102 games over parts of two seasons.

Thomas Robinson also had stints with the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets, averaging 4.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest over the span of his career.

With less than a month remaining in the 2018-19 regular season, Robinson will need to quickly impress if he's to be snatched up for the final weeks. Either way, it's his introduction back to the league where he hopes he'll be playing come 2019-20.
