Gabrielle Union reveals ‘devastating’ truth about Dwyane Wade cheating on her

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade and wife Gabrielle Union might be one of the NBA’s most adored couples right now, but they too had their fair share of trials throughout their relationship. Recently, Union got brutally honest about how she handled Wade’s cheating scandal nearly a decade ago.

In her new book entitled You Got Anything Stronger?, the 48-year-old Hollywood star opened up about the time Dwyane Wade had a baby with another woman:

“In 2013, before we were married, Dwyane had a baby with another woman,” Union wrote in her new memoir, via Sam Leweck of Heat Nation. “It should go without saying that we were not in a good place in our relationship at the time that child was conceived. But we were in a much better place when he finally told me about the pregnancy. To say I was devastated is to pick a word on a low shelf for convenience. There are people — strangers who I will never meet — who have been upset that I have not previously talked about that trauma. I have not had words, and even after untold amounts of therapy I am not sure I have them now. But truth matters.”

This unfortunate series of events transpired during the peak of the Miami Heat dynasty in the 2010s. Playing alongside LeBron James and Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and the Heat went to the NBA Finals four straight years, winning twice.

As it turns out, Wade’s personal life was in shambles at that point in time. He had a child with another woman despite the fact that he was already five years into his relationship with Union.

We have to give credit to Union here for not only possessing enough strength to endure that massive blow in her relationship with Dwyane Wade, but also for baring her soul by talking about it in public eight years later. The fact that they’re still together right now speaks volumes of how hard both parties worked to mend their once-broken relationship, and how they continue to do so to this very day.
